Proteshield 019 is PROTEC’s high-performance, polymer-modified acrylic coating, specifically engineered for roof protection. It delivers a dual action solution: superior waterproofing and measurable heat reduction.

Application instructions

1. Surface Preparation (Crucial for Effectiveness)

  • Cleanliness: The surface must be properly cleaned and completely free from oil, dust, and any foreign materials.
  • Dryness: If the surface is washed, you must wait until it is dried before applying the product.
  • Repairs: All existing concrete cracks must be repaired.
  • Tiled Surfaces: Ensure tiles are not loose. Apply new tile grouting if necessary before application.
  • Soundness: The surface must be solid and well-prepared for effective, long-lasting results.

2. Application Process

  • Coating: Apply the first coat.
  • Recoating Time: Apply the second coat after 4 to 6 hours, which depends on the ambient temperature.
  • Third Coat: A third coat should be applied if necessary, depending on the surface type, to achieve a good and effective result.
  • Weather: Avoid applying during rain periods.
  • Cure Time: The surface is ready for foot steps after 24 hours, depending on the temperature.

3. Coverage and Tools

  • Approximate Coverage: 1 KG per 2 to 3 square meters (Sqm) for each coat. Coverage depends on the surface absorption.
  • Application Tools: Can be applied using a brush, a smooth roller, or optionally a special spray gun at medium pressure.
  • Safety: Use Safety Gears as necessary.
